Pedro Targhetta Vigil-Escalera

He was born in Gijón in 1975. He spends 8 years in Germany, Düsseldorf and finishes his secondary education at the German School of Madrid with the ABITUR exam. Afterwards he starts his mining engineering degree at the Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de Minas in Madrid. During his engineering studies, he performs two summer internships, one in 1998 at IMC-Agrico, a phosphate mining company in Florida (USA), and another in 1999 at MG Ltd., a broker of the London Metal Exchange. After finishing his engineering degree, he joins Prematecnica S.A., an equipment supplier for the power industry, as product manager. In 2002 he joins Gamesa Energia, a wind energy developer, as international project engineer, responsible for the following countries: USA, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Greece. In June 2004 he is promoted to Director of the technical department of Gamesa Energy USA, subsidiary of Gamesa Energia in the US. Subsequently, he starts an MBA at the Wharton School and Master´s in International Studies at the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He is going to Graduate in May 2009. He expects to focus on Multinational Management and Finance. Pedro is a native speaker of German and speaks English fluently and is highly proficient in Portuguese and has some knowledge of French.
