Mercedes Fernández Elías

Born in Madrid in 1981. In 2005 she obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Madrid, receiving an award for Best Grades in the major of Industrial Organization. During the last year of her degree, she participated in a double-degree program with Cranfield University (UK), obtaining an MSc in Knoweledge Management. Additionally, in 2005 she conducted her Thesis Project in collaboration with the British company EasyJet Airlines, receiving a rating of outstanding. After her graduation, she joined the Strategy and Operations department at KPMG as an associate, quickly being promoted to manager. During this period, she participated in strategic projets advising private equity firms. In 2007 the Executive Committee of KPMG recognized her excellent development in the firm, selecting her to participate in the KIP (“KPMG Investing in People”) program. In 2008 she started an MBA at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, with a scholarship from the Foundation Rafael del Pino.
