Matías Irigoyen Testa

Born in Bahía Blanca (Argentina) in 1973. In 1997, received a law degree from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Worked four years as a lawyer in private practice and as a Lecturer, Professor and Researcher at the Law School, Universidad Nacional del Sur. Since 2005, became the youngest Full Professor in Law of that University (appointed by competitive exam or “oposición”). Since 2001, received scholarships from the Fundacion Rafael del Pino. Was elected President of its Association of Scholarship Grantees (from its creation in 2003 and for two subsequent annual periods). Obtained the highest academic record (GPA) in (1) the Masters Program of Law, Economics, and Public Policy from Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset de Madrid (2002); (2) the Masters Program in Financial Analysis from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2003); and (3) Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) of the PhD Program in Economics and Institutions from the Applied Economics Department, Law School, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2003). Since 2004, associated with the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA, USA). Was a Visiting Researcher in 2004 and since 2005 is a Visiting Scholar at the ELRC, Harvard Law School (Cambridge, MA, USA). Working on PhD dissertation about Economics Analysis of Punitive Damages (Expected degree in 2006).
