Marta Sánchez Saché

Born in Mataró (Barcelona) in 1983. She studied Economics in Universidad de Barcelona, being a member of the 17th class of the Education Cooperation Program EUS (Enterprise-University-Society) the last two years. She ranked second of her class when she graduated in 2005. She completes an internship in 22@Barcelona’s Corporate Development department. This company’s aim is to consolidate Barcelona into a platform within the knowledge-based economy at an international level. In November 2005 she joins the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Catalan Government, as an economic researcher. She moves to London in August 2006 to take the MSc in Economics in the London School of Economics and Political Science, specializing in the field of growth and development, and with the funding of the Rafael del Pino Foundation. In July 2007 she starts an internship in The Brookings Institution, in the Economic Studies department. In December she joins the World Bank as a JPA (Junior Professional Associate). She works in the Banking and Debt Management Department. She speaks fluent English, intermediate French and basic Chinese and German. One of her major interests is to broaden her knowledge of China’s emerging power.
