Marc Gratacós Martí

Born in Badalona in 1977. In 2000 he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Between 2000 and 2001 he worked as consultant in SGO Software and PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting developing projects of information systems. He
received a fellowship from the Fundación Rafael del Pino, which allowed him to begin in 2001 a Master of Information Management and Systems at the University of California, Berkeley. He finished the program in 2003 with the presentation of his final project The XML Application Infrastructure. At Berkeley, he was involved in research activities related to XML technologies and systems design. Marc is an expert in designing and management of electronic standards, technology evaluation, and business process analysis. In 2003 he joined the International Swaps and Derivatives Association in New York, where he currently develops FpML (Financial products Markup Language) a standard based in XML for exchanging information about OTC derivatives transactions. He is also a consultant for organizations that want to use electronic standards. He is proficient in Catalan, Spanish, English, and has basic knowledge of French.
