Luis Rivera Heredia

Born in Madrid in 1974. In 1999 he obtained a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, with concentration both in Communication-Transmission and Telematics, and final grade of “Honors”. During the last two years of studies he interned at Telefónica’s R&D branch (Department of Interactive Digital TV Applications). After a professional start at the technological sector he shifted towards the management space joining the Management Consulting firm A.T.Kearney where after three years he participated mainly in projects for telecommunication sector companies. The most relevant projects during that phase were the elaboration of the bid books for UMTS licenses of both a Spanish and a Malaysian mobile operator, and the design of the strategic plan of a telecom operator After A.T. Kearney he enrolled Columbia Business School in the city of New York to pursue an MBA degree with a grant from the Fundación Rafael del Pino. He graduated in May 2004 with concentration both in Finance and Management, and academic awards “Dean’s List” and “Beta Gamma Sigma”. In August 2004 he joined the Management Consulting firm McKinsey&Company, where he focuses mostly in the telecommunications and the transportation sector participating on multiple engagements on strategic, operational, and commercial topics. In May 2012 he returns to Telefónica as Director of Strategic Projects for the Latin American Division
