Joan Daniel Pina i Martí

Born in Barcelona in 1981. He studies Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree graduating first in his class. It was during his senior year when he was offered an Econometrics Teaching Assistant position in order to work with the Econometrics Department. After graduating, thanks to his outstanding records as well as his two years of Mathematics prior to the Bachelor degree at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, he moves to Washington DC (USA) to work in the Research Department at the World Bank as a Research Assistant, working on several projects focused on microfinance in India for a year, it was in this country where he had the chance to stay for a month to start and supervise these projects. In 2006 he gets a Rafael del Pino Foundation Scholarship to continue his studies at London School of Economics and start the MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics.
