Javier Oliván (granted 2004) is Facebook’s international product and marketing responsible. His main objective is to spread Facebook worldwide. The first step has been to create a translation tool that allows users to translate Facebook into their languages and dialects. According to Javier, “the objective is to support the maximum number of languages in the minimum possible time”.

The international strategy aims to promote the platform that Facebook offers for developers and also promote advertising products for business. For example the “business pages” allow to createfirm profiles free of charge within Facebook.
