Itziar Escudero Roldán

Itziar works as an Associate for the Life Sciences Business Group of PRTM (Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath), a leading operational strategy consulting firm. Since she joined PRTM in July of 2007, Itziar has worked on diverse projects for life sciences companies, including a strategic product portfolio prioritization analysis, a due diligence analysis and a benchmark study.
She is an experienced life science professional with over 10 years of combined basic life science and biotechnology industry experience. She has extensive experience in Intellectual Property management, licensing, business and corporate development, new product planning and development, due diligence strategy and product portfolio reorganization.
Prior to joining PRTM, Itziar led the Business Development Strategy at Novocell Inc., a stem cell engineering company. While working for Novocell, she oversaw primary and secondary market research for the development of new products, looked for licensing opportunities, and participated in various due diligences.
Previously, she had worked at the Technology Transfer Office at UC San Diego, evaluating the freedom to operate for the new technologies and looking for biotech and pharmaceutical companies interested in licensing these technologies. She also worked as a Scientific Information specialist in the Oncology area for Prous Science, a subsidiary of Thomson Scientific, a leading provider of data services for biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Previously, Itziar had worked as a CRA for a renowned hospital in Madrid, Hospital Ramon y Cajal, monitoring Phases 2 and 3 oncology clinical trials.
Itziar holds an MBA from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Barcelona and her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University Autonoma of Madrid.
