David López Rodriguez

He was born in Barcelona in 1980. He studies Economics at the University of Barcelona, being awarded the Extraordinary Prize and the National Prize in Economics conferred by the Spanish Government. This year he began his doctoral studies in Economics at the University of Barcelona where he is incorporated as a research scholar in the Department of Economic Policy. At this time, he belongs to the Research Group in Public Policies and Economic Regulation lead by Dr. Anton Costas. He focuses his attention on the liberalization, privatization and defence of competition processes. In 2005 he reached the research proficiency (D.E.A) for his research on Political Economy advised by Professor Germà Bel. “La Caixa” Foundation awarded him a fellowship to start his Ph. D. in Economics in September 2005 at Columbia University. In May 2007 he obtains the Master of Arts in Economics. Currently, he is doing his working on his dissertation focusing on the Political Economy of microeconomic policies.
