César Calvo Medina

Born in Soria in 1978. He studied Financial and Actuarial Sciences at the University of Valladolid where he was awarded the Best Academic Record Prize. In 2002 he received a Scholarship to complete a postgraduate course in Finance at BBVA Finance School. After completing the course, he joined the BBVA group and was in charge of developing new communication channels within the pension fund business. In 2004 he completed the Master in Insurance Companies Administration. The research that he submitted to complete the Master obtained the highest qualification awarded by the Board of Experts of the Master, and was published by this organization. In 2005 he is promoted to the Corporate Expansion department of BBVA, where he is involved in the acquisition of several Consumer Finance Companies in Europe. He obtained the CFA designation in 2006. In January 2008 he joined as a senior analyst to the Strategy department of BBVA Spain and Portugal. In August 2008 he is going to start an MBA at Boston University with a Rafael del Pino Foundation scholarship. He also collaborates with the NGOs “Ecuador Project” (Spain) and PRETOMA (Costa Rica)
